Add Some Emotion to Your Marketing

emotion

What makes great marketing? With technology changing, there’s always going to be a new way to market your brand. Whether it’s social media, live videos, or virtual reality – one thing that connects all these types of technology is emotions. The strategy is to get customers to connect to your brand. If your customer can relate or get attached, then you’ve made a connection and they will be more likely to consider you. Brands are pouring big money into doing this; are you taking advantage of this as well?

Here are a few simple ways to add emotion to your marketing:

Tell a Story

If you can tell your customers a good story, something that they want to read or listen to, they will look forward to the next time you connect with them. This works especially well through appeal letters, newsletters, videos, and social media marketing. Did you recently create a new product? Tell customers how it was imagined. Did your business recently expand? Tell customers why and give them a history of your business’s origins.

Include Photos

Everyone loves photos. If you’re not including photos in your marketing strategy, you’ve already lost some of your audience. The first thing that will catch your recipient’s eye is an image – so make sure it stands out. Emotions drive humans, and showing an image that conveys one will have a lasting impact on recipients.  Use an image to sway your recipient’s emotions, and they’ll be more inclined to make the same purchase.

Use Testimonials

Testimonials are a great way to build trust with your prospects, and they are more effective when in video format. Interview a customer who boosts excitement. Someone who had a great experience with you, and wants to get the word out about what you did/offer and how it helped ease their pain. Ask questions such as “What were you looking for in a partner/product?”, “Why did you end up choosing our company?”, “What was it like using us?”  And “Would you recommend us?” Using emotions in your testimonials will go a long way in getting your message out to the public.

Adding emotion to your marketing is a great way to connect on a more personal level. If you use the three strategies listed above, you’ll be well on your way to attracting new prospects. Which strategies and emotions are you currently using in your marketing? Let us know in the comments.
